Summer is our favorite time of year: the sun, the sand, the cute sandals… However, we often forget that these very things can wreak havoc on our feet! Many people find it silly to spend time pampering their feet, but your feet carry you everywhere you go, so it’s important not to neglect them! Besides treating yourself to the occasional pedicure, there are a few things you can do from home to ensure that your feet are soft and beautiful.
You can begin by making a foot soak by filling a bowl/container that is large enough for your feet with hot water, then adding:
½ cup of honey: the perfect ingredient for soft feet because it attracts and retains moisture.
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar: amazing for all at home beauty remedies, but for feet specifically it works as an antibacterial agent.
½ lemon (put the entire slice in bowl): good for removing dead skin cells.
Olive oil: moisturizing and softening properties.
Use a Pumice Stone while soaking to scrub the driest areas of your feet. After relaxing for as long as you wish, slather on a rich foot cream, like our favorite Burt’s Bees Foot Balm, or Soap and Glory Heel Genius Amazing Foot Cream. We recommend wearing socks after moisturizing in order to retain the moisture.
We recommend doing this twice a month, our favorite time is on Sunday night to wind down before going to bed! If you don’t have time for this, you can also exfoliate while in the shower. We love Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish for feet and the entire body! Don’t forget to follow with your moisturizer!
